History:
Holy Spirit School was registered in January 2005. It is the result of an amalgamation between St Anthony's, Hamlyn Heights, and Our Lady's, Manifold Heights. Holy Spirit School is a vital part of the Parish of Holy Spirit, Manifold Heights. The Year 6 students continue on to their Catholic secondary education at St Joseph's College, Clonard College or Sacred Heart College.
Description:
Holy Spirit School has about 320 students from Prep to Year 6. There are 14 classes: two Prep classes; two Grades 1 classes two Grade 2 classes; four Grades 3/4; and four Grades 5/6. The school grounds are safe and secure. The play facilities are varied. There is a large adventure playground, netball/basketball courts and other hard surface areas. The resurfaced grass area provides year-round access. The students at Holy Spirit are active and enthusiastic.
Features:
There are numerous rituals, celebrations and events that showcase our school and our students. Examples include whole-school Masses, reception of the sacraments, whole school assemblies and special events, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grade 5/6 camp, interschool sports and the Prep鈥揧ear 6 swimming program. There are a number of Year 3/4 and 5/6 netball and basketball teams involved in the local after-school competitions.
All students participate in our embedded Italian approach, Physical Education and Digital and Design Technology classes, as well as Performing Arts and Arts classes.
