Generations in Jazz

Last weekend, musicians and music enthusiasts from around Australia gathered in Mount Gambier in South Australia for the festival.
Students from over 100 schools also took part in the festival, and Melbourne’s Catholic schools performed well to bring home a number of awards.
- Division 4 Superband winners with students from Our Lady of Sion College, Box Hill, Siena College, Camberwell, Xavier College Kostka Hall, Brighton and St Monica’s College, Epping.
- Division 3 Superband winners with students from Genazzano FCJ College, Kew, St Joseph’s College, Geelong, Loreto Mandeville Hall, Toorak and Aquinas College, Ringwood.
- ANZ Vocal Ensemble Awards division 4 with St Bede’s College, Mentone in first place and Whitefriars College, Donvale, in third place.
- ANZ Vocal Ensemble Awards division 3 with Aquinas College, Ringwood, in third place.
- ANZ Vocal Small Ensemble division 1 with Aquinas College, Ringwood.
- City of Mount Gambier National Stage Band Awards Division 4.3 with Killester College, Springvale in first place and St Columba’s College, Essendon, in third place.
- City of Mount Gambier National Stage Band Awards Division 4.1 with Our Lady of Sion College, Box Hill, in second place.
There was more success for
Aquinas College with Year 12 student Phoebe selected as joint winner of the Division 1 upcoming star award.
