Role Description/Criteria
We are looking for a dynamic and skilled Learning and Teaching Leader. Our Learning and Teacher Leader will collaborate with and lead teachers to develop and implement evidence-based teaching practices. They will have demonstrated experience in leading teams across all curriculum areas, in particular, Literacy, Numeracy and a Knowledge Rich Curriculum.
Applicants will work in conjunction with the school’s existing Learning and Assessment Team to ensure that all students are provided with targeted, evidence-based practices that cater to their individual needs. Our Learning and Teaching Leader requires knowledge of the Science of Learning and classroom teaching experience across various year levels P - 6.
The position will initially be offered on a two-year fixed-term beginning January 2025, with an opportunity for renewal. The successful applicant will be appointed to an ongoing teaching position
Applicants are asked to demonstrate experience in the following:
- an understanding and working knowledge of the Science of Learning and how this impacts student outcomes
- working collaboratively with staff to enhance their capacity to deliver evidence based teaching practices through universal teaching
- facilitating planning sessions and modelling implemented practicesÌý
- working collaboratively with the Learning & Assessment team to interpret and analyse school wide data
- prepare and facilitate professional development for staff in line with the School Improvement Plan
- observing classroom instruction to provide feedback and determine next steps for teachers
- understanding Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL) and the implementation of this to create safe and effective teaching and learning environments
- a willingness to adhere to St Francis of Assisi's Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct and other policies relevant to Ministerial Order 1359
Special requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years classroom teaching experience across various levels P - 6
- A high level of understanding and implementation of evidence-based teaching practicesÌý
- Further study or post-graduate qualifications (or the commitment to further study)
