Catholic schools – lockdown announcement
27 May 2021
Catholic Education Commission of Victoria Ltd (CECV) Executive Director Jim Miles says that Victoria’s 499 Catholic schools will move into lockdown mode for seven days from midnight tonight in keeping with today’s announcement by the state government.
Schools will focus on learning continuity and the wellbeing of both students and staff over these coming days.
This will include remote learning programs and/or the provision of learning materials.
Schools will continue to provide onsite supervision for children of essential workers and for vulnerable children.
We thank our parents and teachers for their ongoing hard work and support during this challenging time.
It is vital we all play our part in minimising the risks of this COVID-19 outbreak spreading further in the Victorian community.
More than 20% of Victoria’s students are educated in Catholic schools.
