For all future generations
16 February 2024
Caritas Australia’s 2024 Project Compassion campaign has been launched by Archbishop Peter A Comensoli.
With the 2024 theme, ‘For All Future Generations’, Project Compassion aims to create lasting change for people living in some of the most vulnerable and low-income regions in the world. This year’s launch at , Fitzroy, brought together student leaders from schools across the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ of Melbourne as part of their commitment to support this important fundraiser.
‘I want to say to all of you here today, and to myself, to all of us: we are all called, chosen and sent’, said Archbishop Peter at the launch this week. ‘And we can do this by our love that is in service to others. Project Compassion is a way, it’s one way, but a way of saying that we have been called and chosen and sent to love and serve those in need.’
Fundraising events for Project Compassion have also begun in schools across the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ. At , Altona, student leaders and the Youth in Action team organised pancakes and hot chocolate on Shrove Tuesday to start raising funds for this important cause.
