It was a sea of purple as the community at , Greenvale Lakes, celebrated their Feast Day with a march against domestic violence.

Almost 1500 students and staff, all wearing purple t-shirts emblazoned with ‘not now, not ever’, marched together in a display of unity and determination to raise awareness of the impact of domestic violence in Australia. Inspired by their patron, Saint Maximilian Kolbe, students were reminded that true heroism often lies in the quiet, courageous choices made in the face of darkness.

‘It was a thrill to lead the college on the walk against domestic violence through the streets of Greenvale’, said Acting Principal Cameron Whitford. ‘Participating with special guests, staff and students, and raising awareness of this critical issue, demonstrated our community’s deep commitment to living harmoniously and ensuring that no one should ever have to fear another person, under any circumstances.’

During the walk, students spoke about the impact of the day and their role in bringing about change to the world. See the Melbourne ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Catholic Schools (ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ) , or channels, or watch the college’s film of the event.
