Finalists for the 14th have been announced, and Catholic schools are front and centre in this year’s nominations.

Facilitated by , the ResourceSmart Schools Awards celebrate the work of schools to incorporate sustainability into their curriculum. Through actions large and small, schools are making an impact on their communities, both on site and beyond the school gate. The winners of the 2023 awards will be announced on 15 June.

Curriculum Leadership School of the Year

Finalist: Our Lady of the Nativity School, Aberfeldie.

This category recognises teaching and learning of sustainability through the Victorian Curriculum, and the creative and innovative approaches to addressing sustainability in lesson plans, units of work or school-wide curriculum.

Teacher of the Year

Finalists:

This category recognises teachers who best demonstrate leadership in sustainability.

Volunteer of the Year

Finalist: St Therese’s School, Essendon.

This category celebrates a volunteer or volunteer group who supports the implementation of sustainability activities by contributing their time and expertise.

ResourceSmart School of the Year

Finalist: Mount Lilydale Mercy College, Lilydale.

This category recognises outstanding sustainability achievement in Victorian primary and secondary schools.
