A successful trivia night fundraiser by Catholic Regional College North Keilor, Keilor North, is supporting vulnerable communities overseas ahead of a Year 9 immersion trip to the Philippines later this month.

The trivia night served as a meaningful fundraiser to support a worthy cause close to the hearts of those in the school community. Hosts Mick O’Neil and David Magris kept the momentum going throughout the night, and generous donations poured in, showcasing the incredible spirit of the college community and its commitment to making a difference. Over $10,000 were raised and this money will have a lasting impact on the lives of those in need.

During the upcoming immersion trip, students will work directly with the Canossian community to turn a basic room attached to a convent into a kindergarten space which will also provide preschool children with free meals. In addition to this, working with the Gawad Kalinga community will involve the students and staff assisting families who are experiencing extreme poverty to build themselves a home. Through the fundraising activities, the school has raised enough money to contribute to the building of two homes.

The success of this trivia night fundraiser wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication and support of the incredible sponsors, the staff who worked hard behind the scenes and everyone who attended. Their contributions will have a lasting impact on the lives of all involved with the Canossian Daughters of Charity in Tondo and the Gawad Kalinga community.
