Innovation, collaboration and growth
8 June 2023
It was a day of celebration at St Louis de Montfort’s School, Aspendale, with the official opening and blessing of the new administration and leadership building.
‘The new administration and leadership building reflects our amazing school and everything that it has to offer our students’, said Principal Carmel Stutterd. ‘When I took up the position of principal here in Term 4 of 2020, the administration staff were working in very difficult conditions. Now this space is large, spacious, light-filled and modern. It’s a building that will welcome all members of our school community, now and into the future.’
With Parish Priest Fr Andrew Jekot, Assistant Priest Fr Ignatius Tan, Member for Mordialloc Tim Richardson, and representatives from the School Advisory Council, Melbourne ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Catholic Schools (ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ) and neighbouring Catholic schools in attendance, the new building officially became part of the story of the school.
‘I attended primary school here and was lucky enough to be here at the official opening of the school’, said Carmel. ‘I returned to do my first 15 years of teaching here and was lucky enough to be here for the opening of the building between the school and the church, so this will be my third opening at St Louis de Montfort’s School.’
Bill Tabourlos, Chair of the School Advisory Council, reflects on what this change means to the school community. ‘As we gather in this beautiful new building, we celebrate more than just bricks and mortar. We celebrate the dreams and aspirations of our students, the passion and commitment of our teachers, and the unyielding support of our parents and community’, he said. ‘This building will serve as a hub of innovation, collaboration and growth. It will facilitate enhanced communication and a nurturing environment for our students to thrive.’
