24 April 2023

As students and teachers return to classrooms following the school holidays, there is much to look forward to during the new school term.

‘Circle of Inclusion’ is the 2023 theme for CatholicCare Victoria’s Family Week. It is a chance to celebrate the people we welcome into our circle, from our immediate family to those we welcome as though they are family – our closest friends and loved ones, through to our school family and the wider community. The week provides an opportunity to reflect on those in our circle and the importance of accepting, valuing and celebrating the unique circle of inclusion we all find ourselves in.

The Speedy Sloth is this year’s book for National Simultaneous Storytime. Hosted by the Australian Library and Information Association, this online event uses a book by an Australian author and illustrator to promote the values of reading and literacy for primary school students.

Beginning 27 May, ‘Be a Voice for Generations’ is the theme for this year’s National Reconciliation Week. It encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives: where we live, work and socialise.

Schools are invited to share their news for inclusion on the Melbourne ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Catholic Schools (ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ) website. For more information, please email publications@macs.vic.edu.au. Upcoming events include:
