Remembrance Day
11 November 2021
Catholic schools around Melbourne paused today to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
A minute’s silence was observed at 11 am for those who died protecting Australia. The date recognises the moment in 1918 when guns on the Western Front fell silent, bringing the First World War to an end. In the years since, the date has become a special recognition of those who have died in all wars and conflicts in service of their country.
Catholic schools marked this important occasion through artwork, classroom activities and liturgy in an effort to remember those who went before us. Lest we forget.
