Lisieux Catholic Primary School opening and blessingThe community of , Torquay North, gathered on Friday for the official opening and blessing of the school by Archbishop Peter A Comensoli.

Students, staff and parents, along with those involved in the development and construction of the school, came together with principal Susan Ryan and parish priest Fr Linh Tran to mark the occasion.

In his blessing, Archbishop Peter dedicated the campus to the charism of St Therese who was the ‘heart of love’ in her community of Lisieux in France in the late 1800s.

‘In blessing your school today, I want you all to strive to be like St Therese of Lisieux, and be the heart of love in your school and in your community’, he said.

Lisieux Catholic Primary School has quickly established itself in the local community since opening in 2018 to now have more than 300 students enrolled.

The significant funding support for the new school provided by the Victorian Government through Member for South Barwon, Darren Cheeseman MP, was also acknowledged as part of the proceedings.
