Melbourne’s Catholic schools are well-represented among the finalists of the 2019 .
Announced by Lily D’Ambrosio, Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, the awards recognise schools across the state who are leading the way in minimising waste, saving energy and water, increasing biodiversity and tackling climate change.
‘Contributing to a better place’ is the theme of the 2019 awards, which will be announced on 13 June 2019. Five of Melbourne’s Catholic schools have been nominated in four categories:
- School of the year: , Elwood
- Teacher of the year (secondary): Timothy Thompson, , Lilydale
- Community leadership school of the year (primary): , Mornington
- Curriculum leadership school of the year (primary): , Queenscliff, and , Aspendale.
