The sacrifice of soldiers was recognised by our Catholic schools as Australia stopped to mark Anzac Day. From events at school to larger community events, students and teachers took the time to pay their respects. Some of the highlights included:

  • College Captains and Vice Captains from , Lilydale, laid a wreath at the Lilydale Cenotaph while the college choir sang the national anthems of Australia and New Zealand.
  • The godparent of a student performed the Last Post on a bugle for the students and staff at , Vermont.
  • The wreath from , Eltham, presented by the College and Mission Captains, took pride of place at the base of the flagpole at the Montmorency Eltham RSL dawn service.
  • Students from , Fawkner, sang the national anthem at the dawn service at the Fawkner RSL.
  • Students from , Balwyn North, made paper poppies, wrote letters and baked Anzac biscuits to honour soldiers who’d fought in wars.
  • Robbie Dawson, an Old Collegian from , Donvale, played the Last Post at a moving service with current students at Templestowe Memorial Park.
  • Year 9 students from , Box Hill, represented the college at an Anzac Day service in Box Hill Gardens.
  • In addition to a service at the college, Captains from , Braybrook, participated in Sunshine RSL’s Anzac Day march.
