Last month , Dandenong, principal Tim Hogan, VCAL coordinator Justin Summons and VCAL students presented their handmade outdoor furniture (turn and teach benches) to students, staff and parents at , Lynbrook.

The furniture, which was constructed over two months as part of the VCAL assessment program, is being used in the Community Garden at St Francis de Sales, allowing the school to recreate a classroom atmosphere as the students learn more about building a vibrant garden.

Before beginning the furniture project the VCAL students started with surveying the gardens, contributing to the care of the chickens and assisting the primary students with planting, weeding and harvesting.

St Francis garden students Alex and Richi presented the St John’s group with a thank you certificate and said a few words of thanks for their contributions.
