Kick Arts
13 October 2017
, Heidelberg West, teamed-up with Kids Thrive to present Kick Arts, an arts event with a focus on community action. In four groups, students from Year 3 to 6 worked with local agencies to find out more about the needs of the community and to create performances and installations which drew attention to concerns around waste, the health of the local environment and inclusion.
From the ‘trashion’ parade to the interactive performances, the audience was taken on a journey of discovery around the Banyule Community Health Centre as students become advocates for the causes they were promoting.
Kids Thrive first partnered with the school in 2010, and Kick Arts was the latest in a series of community arts events since then.
