We are so proud of our school

On the 14 October 2015, representatives from St Peter’s Primary School, Epping, went to the city to attend the . The host and MC was Kayne from ABC3 and Lisa from Home and Away was there too. We were nervous but we enjoyed meeting other schools and doing our presentation.
After the presentations we went back to the main room for the awards ceremony. Our teacher, Mrs Canning, was in the running for Environmental Teacher of the year; St Peter’s were also finalists for Community Leadership School of the Year. When they announced the Community School of the Year we heard St Peter’s were the winners!
We were all so happy and we jumped on the stage to get our award. It was really nerve-raking going up and talking about achievements but we enjoyed the moment. We had a great day and were so proud of our school.
We had loads of fun and enjoyed the day together and we got to meet loads of others schools that help the environment as well.
We have done lots of things with the environment and the community to help us be the winners of this award. We are part of the and run sessions twice a week. Parents and community volunteers help us to keep the program running.
We also do lots with the program, including presenting at the Melbourne Water Kids Teaching Kids Conference, Kids of the Yarra and hosting an annual Green Day. This year six community organisations and seven local schools participated in our Green Day.
